Care Support at Home Support Worker (zero-hour contract)
Location: Northamptonshire - all locations, especially in the Corby area
Rate of Pay: £13.36 per hour
Hours of Work: Casual contract - Monday to Friday - flexible hours.
We would especially like to recruit people who prefer to work evenings or weekends only.
About the role
Care Support At Home offers older people a service that is tailored to each client’s individual need. Would you like to join our team of friendly, caring people who make a real difference to the people we support?
You will work with the client in their own home, doing a variety of tasks. Almost the only thing you won’t be doing is undertaking personal care, although we do support with meal preparation. Chatting to our clients is important to us as we spend time together; you can do a jigsaw puzzle together, potter in the greenhouse, or look through family photo albums and reminisce about happy times.
The service also offers carers a break, often for longer periods of time, and gives the chance to talk to someone who understands and who will listen and give them support.
About you
You will ideally have experience of working with older people and of care work, but it’s not essential. We are looking for someone with the hands-on experience and life skills that will enable them to provide a caring, professional service. You must have empathy with, and an understanding of, the behaviour of others, recognising that each person is an individual with varied life experience, making them who they are today.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and keep accurate records are also essential.
You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
