Age UK Sheffield extends our thanks to everyone who joined us on Saturday, 24 May, at Hillsborough Park Pavilion for the premiere of Living with Young-Onset Dementia: Our Music, Our Voice. This inspiring short film, co-produced by the University of Sheffield and members of our Young Onset Hub, showcases the profound impact of music on those living with young-onset dementia.

The event featured a film screening, a lively Q&A session, and a musical interlude, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage with the creators and participants. The film highlights the diverse musical preferences of individuals with young-onset dementia and explores innovative tools and technologies that support musical interaction.

Howard Gordon, one of the film's contributors, shared his personal journey with early-onset dementia and the role music plays in his life. His story, along with others, underscores the message that a dementia diagnosis does not define an individual.

We are immensely grateful to our partners at the University of Sheffield, the dedicated members of our Young Onset Hub, and all attendees for making this event a success. Your support and participation are vital in raising awareness and fostering understanding of young-onset dementia.
