Are you 65 or under & living with, or affected by young onset dementia or memory problems?
If so, we have a new service created specifically to support you and others affected by the condition in Sheffield.
The Young Onset Hub (YOH) is a new service delivered by Age UK Sheffield and funded by Sheffield City Council. We aim to connect & support you after receiving a diagnosis.
The Hub has been, and will continue to be shaped and informed by people living with, or affected by young onset dementia (the experts!) because it aims to provide support that will be as helpful as possible and make a difference to you.

YOH Currently Offers:
A monthly peer-support group and a monthly friends and family support group

Soon, YOH will also offer: A Peer-led course, information packs & online platform, we are creating packs and an online platform to bring you relevant information and support. We can give you details on our information and advice service.

How can I get in contact?
To find out more about the service and access details for joining our support groups, please email youngdementia@ageuksheffield.org.uk
Or, call 0114 250 2850.
The team will contact you to introduce themselves, tell you about what YOH can offer and see if we can support you in any other way. Anyone is welcome to contact us & we look forward to hearing from you.

Upcoming Dates and Events

8th June - ZOOM:
We have our regular young onset Dementia ZOOM Meeting. This group is specifically for people living with young onset dementia and is an opportunity to meet people in similar situations, chat and get involved in some online activities. If anyone would prefer to meet in person at this time instead, then you would be more than welcome to join us again in Norfolk Park - Centre in the Park Building - perhaps for a cuppa or ice cream and a chat! Again, please just let us know so we can plan accordingly. Here is the link: link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85312996624?pwd=Rk5GeEdLSEwzamt1ekFnK0JzdnhJZz09

Tuesday 15th June 3-4pm: ZOOM meet up for family & friends:
This is an opportunity for family members, friends and supporters to come together, have a chat, speak about your situations & circumstances and to ask questions you may have about a loved ones diagnosis, tips, activities, aids & adaptations etc. Again, these have been relatively less attended for reasons mentioned above. Please let us know if you are intending to join us so that we can set a ZOOM meeting up. Again, if an in person meeting would be preferred, we can arrange this.

(Provisionally) Wednesday 30th June at 1pm: Meet up & meal at the Rhubarb Shed cafe:
Please let me know as soon as possible if this is something you would like to join us in doing as I will need to make reservations. All welcome!
Rhubarb Shed Cafe - Sheffield Manor Lodge

Tuesday 13th July at 2pm we have provisionally booked to go to Heeley City Farm for lunch, a tour, music and an introduction to the farmyard animals!
