Jack's Beard Shave

Age UK Wakefield District were contacted by Jack Holt from My Therapy to tell us what he had been doing.

In Jack’s own words he told us:

“People who will know me and that work with me know I am very precious about my beard; I haven't been clean shaven for 7-9 years and I go for a beard groom and trim monthly without fail.

At work it's optional to be fitted for a fit mask which enables me to deal with those patients at high risk of contracting Covid-19. Unfortunately, that means I will have to go clean shaven the full beard has to go for the first time in many many years.

I thought it would be a good idea to get a bit of something for local charities so I have chosen AGE UK Wakefield District's Wraparound Service to donate 75 % of the funds to; and 25% I will buy food and give to local foodbanks. I wanted the charities to be local.

I can’t believe how much this has taken off and within 20 minutes there was £175. I targeted £200 and thought it would take several weeks. I couldn't believe it. I am keeping the page open for 2 weeks for any more donations”.
