Alongside our regular activities such as Time for Tea, MCST Dementia Activities and Veterans groups, our team can be found out and about in the community at the below events.  If you’d like to ask them about something in particular, find out more about what Age UK Wakefield District has to offer or simply have a chat, we’d love you to come along and say hello.

St Georges Community Fun Day - St Georges Lupset Broadway, Wakefield, WF2 8AA   

Date : Friday 30th May       Time: 12-3pm

Volunteers Week Celebration - Junction 32 Glasshoughton

Date: Friday 5th June        Time: 10am-3pm

This is a joint event with our friends and partners from across the Wakefield District, its a celebration event to thank our volunteers for what they do, and also an opportunity to showcase the vast amount of different volunteering roles across the district. Lots of different organisation will be attending so the public will be able to chat with different stalls, get help and support where needed, and register their interest to volunteer.
Active volunteers that are already registered with us will receive a voucher for a free hot drink and cake at one of the cafes at J32!

A day of celebration with food and entertainment

International Time for Tea - The Ridings Centre

Date: TBC June     Time: 10am-12 noon

Join us in The Ridings Shopping Centre for a celebration of international cultures. Food and drink from around the world along with your regular good old cup of tea! Free to attend, no need to book.

Inclusive Festival 2025 - Thornes Park Stadium

Date: Saturday 16th August      Time: 11:00am - 2:00pm       Location: Thornes Park Stadium, Wakefield, WF2 8TY

Join us for an exciting event aimed at promoting inclusivity and accessibility in sports and physical activities within the Wakefield District and beyond.
This year’s event is set to be the largest disability sports event in the area, and it promises to be bigger and better than the first one, last year.
