Domestic abuse

More needs to be done to support older people in West Wales. Age Cymru Dyfed is here to help those in Carmarthenshire access the support they need as an older person.

The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales reported incidents of older people experiencing abuse where the problem is under reported and under recorded. Problems we will tackle: Information and advice and Signposting to relevant support.

It’s ok to speak out.

Maybe you:

  • are unaware of support out there
  • feel support is not available for older generations
  • are financially independent on the abuser
  • feel a sense of shame and embarrassment
  • fear consequences of reporting abuse
