“VE Day – Victory in Europe 8th May 1945” The 75th Anniversary of The End of WW2 in Europe
Age Cymru Dyfed is proud to announce that the ‘The West Wales Veteran’s Archive” will be open on the ‘People’s Collection’ in the National Library of Wales from 8th May 2020. The first accounts provided by military veterans living in West Wales have been published to commemorative VE Day and can be viewed on: https://www.peoplescollection.wales/. If you are a veteran of the Armed Forces aged 65yrs plus and would like to contribute your own account of military service to the Archive, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01970 615151 for an exploratory chat. The health and wellbeing of all our veterans is placed at the forefront of every conversation. The West Wales Veteran’s Archive is supported by a grant award from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (2020-2022). It is designed to become a valuable learning resource for historians, researchers, schools and colleges and for those keen to explore family histories. Development of the West Wales Veteran’s Archive is being overseen by a Project Board with representation from veterans and mental health charities, academia, archive bodies, and veterans themselves.
