FAQ: Race Across MK Challenge 1. What is the Race Across MK Challenge? The Race Across MK Challenge is a team-based event inspired by the concept of racing across the world with limited resources. Teams will navigate various locations in Milton Keynes using eco-friendly transportation methods within a set budget. 2. How many people can be in a team? Each team can have a maximum of 4 members. 3. What kind of transportation can we use? We encourage eco-friendly forms of transportation such as walking, cycling, or using public transport like buses. Using private cars for the race is not allowed. 4. What is the budget for the race? You will be given a budget on the day of the event to cover your transportation costs around Milton Keynes. 5. Do we need to be very fit to participate? A high level of fitness is not required. Some walking is involved, but the distances are generally less than half a mile from a bus stop. 6. How do we avoid using our phones during the race? While we encourage asking for help and support from others instead of using phones, for safety reasons, at least one team member must carry a phone. The challenge lies in resisting the urge to use Google and instead engaging with the community for assistance. 7. What if we need to use our phone? You should only use your phone for safety purposes or in emergencies. The essence of the challenge is to ask others for directions and help rather than relying on your phone. 8. How do we receive the next clue? You will need to send a photo of your team to a designated WhatsApp number to receive the next clue. 9. What kind of challenges can we expect? The challenges will involve navigating to specific locations, solving clues, and engaging with the local community for assistance. The goal is to test your resourcefulness and teamwork. 10. Can we use taxis or ride-sharing services? No, taxis or ride-sharing services are not allowed as we promote the use of eco-friendly transportation options. 11. What should we bring on the day of the event? Bring comfortable clothing, a phone (for safety), and a sense of adventure. Everything else needed for the race will be provided, including the budget for transportation. 12. How is the winner determined? The winner will be the team that completes all the challenges and reaches the final destination first, within the set rules and budget. 13. Is there a prize for winning the race? Yes, there will be a prize for the winning team. Details about the prize will be provided on the day of the event. 14. How do we register for the race? Registration details will be provided by the event organizers. Make sure to register your team in advance to secure your spot.
