Closure of Thrapston Charity Shop
We have made the difficult decision to close our charity shop on Thrapston High Street following a review of its retail operations.
Despite the dedication of staff, volunteers and loyal customers, the shop has been operating at a financial loss and would require significant investment to secure its future. As a charity, we must focus our resources where they can deliver the greatest benefit for older people across Northamptonshire.
Chris Stelling, Chief Executive of Age UK Northamptonshire, said:
"This has been an extremely difficult decision and one that has not been taken lightly. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from the Thrapston community over the years.
We hope to return to Thrapston in the future as we continue our plans to extend our retail offer into more areas of the county, helping us raise vital funds to support older people across Northamptonshire."
We would like to thank everyone who has donated, shopped and volunteered with us in Thrapston. Supporters can continue to shop and donate at our ten other charity shops across Northamptonshire."
Donations
Please note that our Thrapston shop is no longer accepting donations. We kindly ask supporters not to leave donations outside the shop, as this can create health and safety issues and may result in items being damaged or unusable.
Donations can still be taken to any of our other Age UK Northamptonshire charity shops across the county.
