Cover Deputy Shop Manager

Location: flexible at all Age UK Northamptonshire shops in the county

Rate of pay: £12.77 per hour

Hours of work: 22.5 hours a week, three days a week on a casual contract

About the role

Our eleven shops in Northamptonshire play a vital role in raising funds that support our work throughout the county. Every penny helps to improve later life for people in Northamptonshire. We need to recruit a reliable, trustworthy person to help the Shop Managers in the running of our charity shops throughout the county. You will support the Shop Manager, helping to achieve effective, efficient and profitable day to day operation, management and control of an Age UK Northamptonshire shop.

You will deputise for the Manager when required and work to ensure we provide the highest standard of customer service and a great customer experience at all times. We expect all our staff and volunteers to treat donors and their donations with respect and appropriate gratitude.

About you

We are looking for a person with a good standard of education and a full driving licence. Experience of working in retail is not essential, but a strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for, high street retail and fashion is. Energy and enthusiasm to succeed are more important than budgeting and cash handling experience; if you are able to forward plan, prioritise and organise your workload, this is the job for you.
