A range of training opportunities is available for new and existing members of Sheffield Dementia Action Alliance. If you would like us to develop specific sessions, please contact us so we can plan new sessions that suit your needs and schedule!

Free training is also available from Dementia Advice Sheffield. Click here for further details.

What will these sessions look like?

Regular Workshops: Our Regular Workshops are replacing our previously held quarterly meetings. They’re an opportunity to engage with fellow membership organisations, learn and share good practice and access supportive training and information.  They will be delivered quarterly and are an excellent opportunity to learn from peers, and keep up to date with all of the opportunities and support the alliance can offer you.

Please note, only SDAA members can join these workshops. Please email sdaa@ageuksheffield.org.uk to book your place.

  • 28th April 1.30-3pm - How can members of the SDAA better support people living with dementia from ethnic communities?
  • 19th July 9.30-11am - How can members of the SDAA better involve people with dementia?
  • 20th October 1.30-3pm - How can the SDAA members encourage others to become involved?

Support Workshops:
These workshops will explore why we ask organisations to join the alliance, why getting it right for people living with dementia is so important, what joining the alliance means and we will guide you through the process of joining during the workshop. Meaning you can become a member and start making a difference to people living with dementia and their carers straight away. After attending the workshop you will: Understand what the Sheffield Dementia Action Alliance is, identify the importance of supporting people living with dementia and their supporters and understand the process of signing up to the Sheffield Dementia Action Alliance.

Suitable for all members whether you don’t yet have pledges or need to make new ones. These workshops will look at your success so far in being a member of the alliance, look to create a plan for the future for your organisation to support people living with dementia and their carers and explore new specific and measurable pledges for you to work on this year. After attending the workshop you will understand the impact you have already made to people living with dementia, identify different ways you might want your organisation to support people living with dementia and their carers and understand how to re-pledge to the alliance.
