Statement regarding the Solihull Information & Advice services

Published on 21 September 2026 07:38 PM

We would like to let Solihull residents know that from 1 October 2026, Age UK Solihull will no longer be the provider of the Solihull Information & Advice services.

The Solihull Information & Advice service, known now as Here2Help, has always been funded by Solihull Council. Age UK Solihull has proudly delivered the service to local residents since 2019 and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has used, supported and championed the service over the years. We are proud of the huge difference the service has made to local people's lives during the time we delivered it:

  • Since being awarded the contact in 2019, Age UK Solihull has helped over 27,000 local residents through its Information & Advice services.
  • During that time, we helped with 117,502 issues and generated 418,970 contacts
  • Last year, we supported 1,500 grant and benefit applications, generating £4.4m annualised income for Solihull residents.

We would also like to thank our incredibly knowledgeable Advisers and volunteers for making such a huge difference over the years.

The Information & Advice Service contract has recently been awarded to another provider, so we will no longer be providing the service after 30 September.

Although we are disappointed not to continue delivering the contract, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and want to reassure residents that information and advice support will continue to be available via the new Here2Help service.

The current Solihull Community Advice Hubs at The Core and Chelmsley Wood Library will close on 30 September. From 1 October, residents seeking information and advice should contact Here2Help, who will provide support by telephone, email and through multiple face-to-face locations across the borough. We will share contact details for Here2Help as soon as possible.

Age UK Solihull will continue to support older people through our Community Connections, Social Prescribing and Digital Champions services, and we are excited to explore new ways of responding to local need in the future.
