Volunteer of the Year 2023

On Friday 29th September 2023, Age UK Sunderland hosted it's annual Volunteer Party at The Grand Hotel, Sunderland. 

Everyone enjoyed afternoon tea, and wonderful entertainment by East Herrington Primary School Choir and Arco String Duo.
 
A massive thank you to all of our volunteers who help provide much needed support to our clients throughout the City of Sunderland and surrounding areas.
 
Special thanks to The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Sunderland, Councillor Dorothy Trueman and Consort of the City of Sunderland, Councillor Harry Trueman for presenting the awards.

Long Service Awards

At Age UK Sunderland, some of our volunteers have been with us for a long period of time helping us to support our clients and we celebrated this with our long service awards which were presented by The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Sunderland, Councillor Dorothy Trueman and Consort of the City of Sunderland, Councillor Harry Trueman.

Age UK Sunderland is delighted to announce that the winner of Volunteer of the Year 2023 is Michael Armstrong.

Michael has volunteered with Age UK Sunderland for 8 years. He currently volunteers as a Keeping in Touch Admin.
 
'In my position I am fortunate to come across many amazing volunteers within AUKS and they all deserve credit for their dedication and commitment however it is no exaggeration to say that Michael’s willingness to support the Keeping in Touch Befriending Service for many years and take on additional administrative tasks to support staff has been instrumental in AUKS reaching as many clients as they have been able to' - Adrian Bowmer, Front Door Manager
