• Signposting and referrals to other services where additional support is identified
A holistic approach
Everyone receiving support from our Energy Redress service is offered a LEAF-7 holistic assessment.
Rather than looking only at the immediate energy issue, LEAF-7 helps us understand other areas of life which may be affecting your wellbeing and independence.
Together we can explore:
• Managing daily living
• Managing health
• Social contact
• Enjoyment
• Value
• Safety and security
• Choice and control
If the assessment identifies other areas where you may benefit from support, our team can provide information and advice or connect you with other Age UK Wakefield District services and appropriate local organisations.
Our aim is not simply to deal with today's energy problem, but to make sure you are receiving the right support for your wider circumstances.
Qualified Energy Advisors
Our Energy Redress team includes specialist advisors who have achieved Level 3 City & Guilds energy qualifications.
This means you can speak to someone with specialist knowledge who can help you understand energy tariffs, bills, energy efficiency and the support which may be available to you.
Our advisors will explain things clearly, give you the opportunity to ask questions and help you make informed choices about your energy.
Practical energy-saving equipment
Where appropriate, we can also provide small energy-saving measures to help make your home more comfortable and reduce unnecessary energy use.
Depending on your circumstances and availability, this may include items such as:
• LED energy-saving light bulbs
• Draught excluders
• Radiator reflector panels
Your Energy Advisor can discuss which measures may be useful for your home and explain how to get the best from them.
