Dennis voices support of Age Cymru Dyfed’s National Service Project

On Monday 13 October Hugh and Neil visited Korean War Veteran Dennis Pikes, who kindly allowed us to use his photos to publicise our National Service Heritage project, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.

Dennis was shown a recording of a recent interview we filmed with Korean War Veteran Bernard Phillips. It was an emotional visit as Dennis voiced his pride at supporting Age Cymru Dyfed’s National Service project. The project has proven incredibly popular, and the team met 15 Veterans from Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and further afield. Neil and Hugh are busy building the collections that will be published on a unique page on the West Wales Veterans Archive, whilst Jim the Coordinator, is busy planning events and liaising with partners.
