Funding available for unpaid carers - up to £1,000

We are pleased to share that additional funding is now available for unpaid carers across Carmarthenshire, thanks to support from Carmarthenshire County Council’s Housing with Care Fund. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to help unpaid carers make their homes more suitable for care, through:

• Home repairs, refurbishments or improvements that support your home as a Housing with Care setting
• Equipment or minor adaptations, where other Welsh Government funding isn’t available
• Digital aids, monitoring or assistive technology, such as smart speakers (excluding phones, laptops or tablets)

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Provide 50 or more hours of unpaid care per week within their home

• Be in receipt of Carer’s Allowance

• Be caring for an older adult aged 55 or over

Please note: this grant is intended for use after all other funding options have been explored.
