Age Cymru Dyfed is proud to be playing an active role in the newly launched Financial Wellbeing Support Service, delivered in partnership with project lead Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales.

Together, we are providing practical, trusted, and compassionate financial support to help people across Carmarthenshire take control of their money and improve their wellbeing.

This new service has been set up to give people in Carmarthenshire the tools, guidance, and support they need to take control of their finances. With trained, local staff on hand, the partnership is committed to offering practical, trusted, and compassionate support — ensuring no one has to face money worries alone.

Together, Age Cymru Dyfed and Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales are working to make a real difference to residents’ lives, focusing on those who are most at risk of financial hardship, including carers, vulnerable individuals, and families across the county.

Our team provides confidential, one-to-one support in Carmarthenshire, including:

  • Debt support – Managing debts, negotiating with creditors, and creating realistic repayment plans.

  • Income maximisation – Checking all available sources of income, grants, and discounts to boost household budgets.

  • Budget planning – Offering personalised advice to help residents take control of their finances.


How Our Partner Helps

As lead partner, Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales provides additional specialist support with:

  • Welfare benefits – Guidance through the benefits system, clear advice on entitlements, and help with applications.

  • Appeal support – Advice and representation if a claim has been denied or reduced.

  • MoneyHelper – Access to a simple benefits calculator to quickly check what financial support you may be entitled to.
