Age Cymru Dyfed, in partnership with local community transport provider Dolen Teifi, is proud to provide On The Go – Ar Y Ffordd, a community transport scheme designed to improve mobility, independence, and wellbeing for people living with a disability across Carmarthenshire.

Thanks to funding from the Motability Foundation, the scheme will introduce 10 wheelchair-accessible vehicles across 10 community locations by 2026. These vehicles will provide safe, reliable transport not only for essential appointments, but also for social, recreational, and community activities – helping people stay connected and live fuller lives.

What the service offers

  • wheelchair-accessible vehicles available across Carmarthenshire
  • volunteer & family driver training, ensuring flexibility and local support
  • transport for health appointments, shopping, social visits, community events, and more
  • a focus on independence, wellbeing, and reducing isolation
  • referrals to additional services where needed
  • continuous improvement based on user feedback
