Day Centre clients get creative with Art Expressions

Everyone can join in and produce artwork

We are delighted that since February our day centre clients have been able to enjoy some community inspired creativity with Art Expressions UK CIC.  Abi and Femi have been bringing their artistic skills and enthusiasm to The William and Patricia Venton Centre to encourage our day centre clients to unleash (or rediscover) their creativity.  The regular sessions, which are funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, have enabled our clients to produce some impressive artwork.

On Friday 15th May we were thrilled to be joined by local MP Stuart Andrew.  Stuart was very complimentary about the paintings he saw and even had a go at watercolour painting himself.

Abi from Art Expressions UK CIC supplies MP Stuart with the materials he needs to produce a work of art.

Coming to the day centre enables all our day centre clients, including Tony and John, to take part in activities they would not necessarily attempt at home.  With the support of Art Expressions UK CIC, and our day care staff, they can lose themselves in working on a painting.

Lynn, Jean and Linda say they have really enjoyed painting the flowers.  Jean [centre] says "I don't mind what I do.  I like to do everything here.  I've got one of these pictures pinned up in my kitchen."

Anna [not pictured] says she loves matching the colours during these sessions and shares that she has an art A level.  "I like coming to the day centre because I like mixing with people," she says.

Day Care Co-ordinator Wendie says: "We'd like to thank everyone who has enabled these art sessions to be such a success.  We can't wait to have Abi and Femi back again."
