Plymouth's 'dose' of opinions on accessing pharmacy services

We were delighted to welcome Isaac and Ricky from Pharmacy First, who joined us to give our clients the opportunity to share their first hand experiences of accessing their local pharmacy services. With many of our clients confidently taking to the microphone to speak openly in front of the group about their personal experiences and the challenges they face.
The morning highlighted just how important digital inclusion is to us here at Age UK Plymouth. As mentioned previously in this newsletter, more and more pharmacy and medical services are now moving online. For many older people, something as simple as ordering a repeat prescription can become difficult if they do not have internet access or support from family and friends to help them navigate new digital systems.
Services such as Pharmacy2U offer a convenient online option for managing prescriptions, allowing people to order repeat medications and other essentials from the comfort of their own home, with delivery straight to their door. While these services can be incredibly useful, it is important that nobody feels left behind as healthcare continues to become more digital.
The Pharmacy First public forum was a fantastic step towards making pharmacy services more accessible for everyone. Our clients really enjoyed and appreciated the chance to have their voices heard and to contribute ideas and suggestions that could help improve the experience of accessing pharmacy services in the years to come.
