We are Age UK Somerset, an independent local charity working across Somerset and North Somerset, with an outstanding team dedicated to doing more for older people.

Salary:  

£28,370 (FTE £35,463 pa).

Location: 

Taunton, Somerset

About the role

At Age UK Somerset, we want older people in our area to feel valued, listened to and connected with their communities; reducing loneliness, preventing falls and making later life feel brighter. 

Our Wellbeing Services operate across a wide geographic area providing companionship, a listening ear, the opportunity to get out & about, remain mobile and independent.  We are now seeking someone with demonstrable success in managing a customer-facing service to provide clear leadership and support to the team with high-quality customer care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Wellbeing and Toenail Cutting Services
  • Manage demand, staffing, clinic locations and schedules
  • Oversee relationship matches between volunteers and clients
  • Recruitment and line management of staff and volunteers
  • Maintain excellent standards of customer care, safeguarding and compliance
  • Represent Age UK Somerset in meetings and talks

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience running a customer-facing service
  • First-class organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
