  • An evening with Dr Lucy Pollock, author of 'The Book about getting Older' took place on Friday 1st October 2021 at St James' Church, Taunton

'The most important book about the second half of your life you'll ever read.’ SANDI TOKSVIG

To mark International Older Person's Day Dr Lucy Pollock kindly agreed to talk at this event with all profits going to Age UK Somerset.  The evening was very enjoyable and raised over £1,000!

Lucy's book is serious, funny, kind, knowledgeable, empowering and very readable. It guides us towards the essential conversations about getting older that go straight to the heart of what matters most.

There's never been a more important time to talk about getting older.

If you weren't able to attend the event we have organised another one on 11th February in Weston super Mare!

  • Autumn Leaves Fundraising Concert

A wonderful evening was had by all at the Autumn Leaves concert held on October 26th at St James Church, Taunton.

The event was put on and performed by the Taunton Male Voice Choir with guests Four Lanes Male Choir of Cornwall, in aid of Age UK Somerset.

The event raised some much needed funds through ticket sales, the bar and a retiring collection to which the audience gave generously.  We are very grateful to everyone involved.

  • Compton Dundon Golf Society Charity Golf Day

Compton Dundon Golf Society held a Charity Golf Day in aid of Age UK Somerset at the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club on 30th August 2019.

We are very grateful to the Golf Society for choosing us as their charity for the day.

They were doubly generous because not only did they raise £1,400 for us through entry fees, donations and a raffle, but also, they let the team representing Age UK Somerset win!  How kind ;-)
