Management Handover at Eastbrook Community Centre

Published on 10 August 2022 03:49 PM

Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove will be handing management of Eastbrook Manor Community Centre back to Adur and Worthing Councils next month, as the charity’s temporary tenancy comes to an end.

Eastbrook Manor has been run by Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove since February 2021. This was a temporary tenancy agreement during the pandemic, with a view to it potentially becoming a longer-term arrangement in due course. The charity initially used Eastbrook Manor as a vital hub to help distribute meals to vulnerable older people during lockdown and has since opened the centre to offer a range of activities and services for people of all ages.

In a recent review, Age UK WSBH took the decision not to proceed with a long-term lease at the centre. The charity will continue to offer social groups and clubs at a range of venues locally.

AUKWSBH will hand the building back to Adur and Worthing Council on 30th September. The partners will work together on a managed exit, to minimise any impact on hirers, staff and the local community
