  • How much did we raise?

Despite facing strong winds, participants showcased remarkable courage and determination throughout the summer-long Abseil event, which raised an impressive £4,623.65.

Meet some of our fundraisers!

  • From serving his country to serving his community, Roger, an ex-Royal Marines Commando

On the 19th of August 2023, Roger fearlessly took on an abseil challenge, proudly wearing his Royal Marine Commandos cap as a symbol of his remarkable past. As a pioneer in abseiling for the Emergency Services, Roger embarked on countless daring missions without the safety precautions we have today. It's been over 50 years since he last undertook such a feat, making this event even more extraordinary!

  • Digital Inclusion Officer Raises Over £1000 for Age UK Isle of Wight through Daring Feats

We are thrilled to give a huge shoutout to our Digital Inclusion Officer, Dan Jupp, for his incredible fundraising efforts in support of Age UK Isle of Wight. Dan's daring adventures, including abseiling 100-metres of the Spinnaker Tower and skydiving from 10,000ft over the Isle of Wight, have raised just over £1000 for our organisation.

  • Dave: £951.45

Dave accomplished his abseil on the 27th August, 2023. His determination and bravery paid off as he managed to raise a staggering £951.45. This makes Dave our top fundraiser for this event - well done, Dave!

  • Gill: £898.95

Gill's fundraising efforts for Age UK Isle of Wight were nothing short of remarkable. Despite the 24th September being one of our windiest abseils, Gill fearlessly took on the challenge as the first participant of the day. She raised an impressive £898.95.
