Stockburn Trust funds new equipment

Trustees from the Stockburn Trust.

Thank you for the generous donation for the benefit of our day centre clients

During the time that all our day centres had to stay closed because of the covid pandemic, a great deal of equipment for activities, games and arts and crafts was either destroyed or lost.  Mark Morgan, the manager of our Four Seasons day centre in School Lane, Kettering managed to re-open the day centre in October 2020 in new premises in Rockingham Road.

Mark and his team have had to find alternative ways of providing a range of mentally and physically stimulating, and fun, activities to the older people attending the day centre.  Mark says they have had to be inventive and creative whilst they had no equipment but he and his staff put together a "wish list" of activities they'd like to offer.  A new supply of musical instruments, games and arts and crafts supplies would enable them not only to provide a choice of stimulating activities at the centre, but staff could plan those activities in a timely manner, rather than use whatever they can get their hands on at any particular time.

We are very grateful to the trustees of the Stockburn Memorial Trust Fund, (Maggie Don and Edward Lamb are pictured with day centre client Richard Chapman with Age UK Northamptonshire's chair of trustees Paul Bertin) for their generous of £1,000 which enabled us to buy an assortment of equipment in October 2021.

Please get in touch on 01604 611200 if you, or a family member, is interested in attending our Kettering day centre.
