Our 2023 AGM was held on Monday 20th November.

Chief Executive Christopher Duff opened our 27th Annual General Meeting and introduced guest speaker Toby Sanders, Chief Executive of the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board.  Toby gave an interesting overview of the NHS in Northamptonshire, looking backwards and looking ahead, acknowledging that Age UK Northamptonshire supports people to stay well.  We are grateful to many local councillors and representatives from other charitable and social organisations who attended our AGM.  Sales & Marketing Manager Roger Harris was pleased to talk to Cllr Barbara Jenney, Chair of North Northamptonshire Council [pictured above], about the services we provide that enable older people live independently.

Our AGM is an excellent opportunity to discuss matters of mutual concern and how we can work together to improve later life in Northamptonshire. Wellbeing Integration Lead Amy Shelton is seen here with the Deputy Mayor of Northampton, Cllr Paul Joyce who also expressed his thanks to the charity for the support it provides to local older people.

Chris Duff explained that Age UK Northamptonshire is 71 years old this year and is well placed to meet the challenges ahead.  "There has been plenty of organisational change over the past 12 months.  We combine the focus on financial matters of the private sector with the ethos of service of the public sector," he said.  "The one constant is that the needs of older people in the county will continue to increase."

Our annual report confirms that the total number of active clients increased from 13,616 at the start of April 2022 to 18,197 by the end of March 2023.  Our services are accessed by people across the county, with client postcodes reflecting the centres of population and also more rural areas.  In fact, figures for 2023/23 show an increase in the number of clients in less populated postcodes.
