Age UK Sheffield is delighted to have been shortlisted in the 2021 Sheffield Business Awards.

The charity is in the final four of the Social Impact category alongside Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care, Sheffield Futures, and Sheffield United Community Foundation.

During the past 18 months, Age UK Sheffield fundraised £60,000 within a few weeks, enabling the charity to deliver 3,298 essential food parcels to older people who were shielding from Covid-19.

In 2020/21, our business-as-usual demand also increased by 12.5%. We delivered casework to 3,879 older people in Sheffield. Our proportion of ethnic minority beneficiaries increased from 5% to 8%.

Our third charity shop opened in Broomhill in October 2021, increasing our long-term financial sustainability, and work is nearing completion on our brand new facilities in Hillsborough Park. We have raised nearly £1m in captial grants from outside of Sheffield, bringing new money and jobs into the city.
