Pledging to raise money from a sponsored skydive is just one way you can get involved in the day

Giving Tuesday is on 28 November 2023. You can support Age UK Solihull by giving money, time, something you make or something you no longer need.

Brought to the UK in 2014 by the Charities Aid Foundation, #GivingTuesday offers the opportunity to give back to good causes, by donating, volunteering time or supporting others by simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member.

Like many other charities, we had to step up like never before thanks to the global pandemic, helping ensure that some of the most vulnerable people in our community have what they need. In the face of this rising demand, many charities faced financial and social challenges as traditional fundraising opportunities have been shut off.

Giving Tuesday is a chance to help us bounce back after a difficult after a difficult two years.

There are so many ways to get involved and feel good by giving!

How can I get involved?

Support us this Christmas

IG Graphic.pngFor many, the festive period can be a difficult and lonely time. However it’s set to be even harder this year as large numbers of older people also face a perilous winter of soaring energy prices and high inflation.

From playing our Christmas Raffle to nominating us to win a £1,000 donation, donating a Christmas gift  for an older person, or raising free donations with your Christmas shopping - we have several fun, festive fundraising opportunities that you can join in with to help us provide our services for older and vulnerable people in Solihull this winter and beyond.

Christmas support

Donate

We rely on voluntary income including donations and gifts in Wills for 25% of our income.

We understand that times are difficult at the moment, but if you are able to donate, any amount can help make a huge difference, enabling us to provide advice, support and companionship for thousands of local people.

If you donate to our Giving Tuesday page below, we will get to keep 100% of your donation.

Wrap_Up_And_Run_0016.jpgIf you fancy a challenge, but don't think a skydive is the one for you, why not raise some money by doing a sponsored run, walk cycle, or mountain climb!? If you are not the athletic or daredevil type, what about a sponsored silence or day of isolation to get a glimpse of the loneliness faced by many older people?

Remember us in your will

Gen_41_LR.jpgYou can help us continue to be there for future generations of Solihull by adding us into your Will. You can leave a gift of as little as 1% meaning those closest to you receive the remaining 99%.

It's so easy to do - simply give our name Age UK Solihull (remember to specify the Solihull part so it comes to your local Age UK rather than national) and registered charity number 1055887 to your solicitor or the person drafting your Will.

Can't give on Tuesday?

We know there are those of you who would love to do something on the day to support your favourite charity but for whatever reason can’t.

The #GivingTuesdayPledge will give you an opportunity to commit to doing something at a future date but still get involved in this buzz of this incredible generosity movement.

With a #GivingTuesdayPledge, you can commit to doing something new, improve on what you already do, or continue with your current generosity activities.

We would be truly grateful for any way you should choose to support us.
