Do you have the enthusiasm and desire to help older people to live their ‘best life’?

Age UK Somerset is the leading independent charity for older people in our area and we take pride in understanding, supporting and promoting their interests.

Due to forthcoming retirements from our Board, we wish to invite applications to become new Trustees from enthusiastic and motivated people who share our commitment to our charitable aims and core values.

As a Trustee, you will develop an understanding of your responsibilities towards compliance, prudence and care, working with the Chair and Chief Executive to ensure that the organisation has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction.  You should be prepared to give the necessary time for reading Board papers, attending around 5 day-time meetings each year (usually Wednesdays) and keep yourself informed about the charity’s activities.

Whilst these are voluntary, unpaid positions, essential out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

How to express your interest

After reading the Trustee Role Description, please write to, or email, our Chief Executive, Phil Dolan, outlining the reasons for your application.

Alternatively, you may wish to contact Phil by email or phone for an informal discussion.
