Working closely with the Memory Connections team, this role presents an exciting opportunity to deliver our Memory Connections MCST (Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy) programme in Somerset.
The programme offers enjoyable weekly sessions where group members take part in stimulating games and activities designed to assist those with mild to moderate dementia in maintaining their memory and thinking skills. Other potential benefits include increased confidence and friendship which could lead to a better quality of life.
Fun really is right at the heart of it all and you will need to develop creative theme-based subjects to facilitate discussion and participation. As a confident communicator who is sensitive in dealing with people within a group situation, you will encourage involvement whilst having compassion and consideration for individuals’ varied health issues and personalities. You should also be at ease with ‘Zoom’ video calls as some sessions may be run online.
A reliable and effective broadband internet connection with appropriate arrangements for home working will be required. You may also require access to a motor vehicle for community working.
