New Charity Treasurer Trustee sought

Age UK Somerset is the leading independent charity for older people in our area and we take pride in understanding, supporting and promoting their interests. Due to a forthcoming retirement we are now seeking a new Treasurer Trustee to join our Board.

We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and motivated people who share our commitment to the charity's aims and core values.

The Role

As a Trustee you will help ensure that Age UK Somerset has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction, and that the organisation is well-governed and effective in achieving its purpose. Trustees have collective responsibility for the charity’s compliance, prudence and care.

You should be prepared to give time for reading Board papers, attending around five daytime meetings each year (usually on Wednesdays), and keeping informed about the charity’s work and the issues affecting older people locally.

This role requires robust financial management expertise.  We particularly welcome applications from finance professionals, ideally a Chartered Accountant with knowledge of charity finance.  All backgrounds will be considered.

What we offer

This is a voluntary, unpaid position, but essential out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
