The Memories Choir is a sociable group which uses Music and Singing to support the memory and cognition of people living with mild to moderate dementia and their carers.
The Memories Choir is based on the known positive impacts that Music and Singing can have on individuals with dementia and also on their care givers.
Music and singing is known to enhance wellbeing and social interaction and help cognitive function.
Music can also really help to reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, stimulate memories and improve communication skills. Additionally, music can create a sense of engagement and joy, fostering social connections and improving the overall quality of life for both those living with dementia and their care givers.
The Memories choir will meet every Thursday morning from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at The Sydenham Centre, Parkway, Bridgwater TA6 4QZ, starting on 19th June.
Each session will cost £7.
