WightFibre

(01983) 242424 or visit www.wightfibre.com

WightFibre provide a different kind of broadband – full-fibre, ultrafast and future-proof. They are making the Isle of Wight one of the best-connected places in the world with some of the world’s fastest broadband speeds. Over 60,000 homes on the Island will be able to receive our broadband by the end of 2022.

Wightfibre want to help you get to grips with technology and learn how it all works. They now have a dedicated Digital Inclusion Officer to do exactly this. If you are a WightFibre customer you can receive the following help:

  • Help with setting up a new email address – particularly after switching broadband supplier to us (for example from talktalk.net to a Gmail/Outlook account)
  • Help to setup and connect devices to your WiFi
  • Help connecting with family and friends through email and video calling services
  • Support to download and understand apps such as WhatsApp
  • Help with learning how to use WiFi / mobile data
  • Advice on how broadband might benefit those who have never had it before
  • Help to educate customers on what it can enable them to do – for example shop online, connect with family and friends, look up information/advice on the web

Their Digital Inclusion Officer can also support digitally vulnerable customers with any connectivity concerns they may have by helping them to understand our broadband offer.

WightFibre care about our Island community too. Their Connected Communities Programme provides support to the important work of not-for-profit and community focused groups across the Island, by bringing a different kind of broadband to them and the communities they serve.

Wightfibre fully or part-fund the installation, rental and ongoing costs associated with bringing WightFibre full-fibre, ultrafast, future-proof broadband into community hub locations and their offices. If you are interested in applying for this programme you can do so by clicking here
