Age UK Milton Keynes' 2017 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Age UK Milton Keynes was held on Thursday 28th September 2017.

Chairman Sue Graham welcomed the Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr Martin Petchey, Professor James Goodwin from Age UK and guests to hear about the work of Age UK Milton Keynes over the past year.  After the list of apologies was agreed, Tara Bell gave a short presentation on the Walking Befriender pilot.

Minutes of the last AGM were agreed, then we heard the Chairman's report and a report from Gaye Baker, Head of Finance.  Age UK Milton Keynes is currently without an Honorary Treasurer.  The auditors were appointed.

There then followed the election of the Board of Trustees.

Professor Goodwin, Age UK's Chief Scientist, gave an engaging, illuminating and fascinating presentation on the subject of "What we should know about our ageing population".

The meeting closed with the Chairman expressing her thanks to staff, volunteers and everyone who has supported Age UK Milton Keynes over the past year, enabling the charity to make a positive difference to thousands of older people and their families.
