NCS fundraising fun day

15 community-minded young people organised a fun day and raised vital funds for us in Newport Pagnell

We say a huge thank you to Emily and her team of students from schools throughout Milton Keynes who are currently taking part in the National Citizen Service.  They decided they wanted to support local older people and raise funds for a local charity at the same time.  They were welcomed to Castlemead Care Home in Newport Pagnell where they organised a fun day for residents and their families and friends on Friday 3rd August.

On a hot sunny day the students put together a raffle and set up a name-the-giant-teddy stall and a coconut shy in the grounds of the care home for people to have fun with.  They sold delicious homemade cakes, played music and organised races on the front lawn, bringing a modern twist to a traditional day of entertainment, raising a much-appreciated £70.
