Are you looking for a new and worthwhile challenge?
Do you have the enthusiasm and desire to help older people across Somerset and North Somerset live their best lives?
Age UK Somerset is a leading independent charity dedicated to understanding, supporting and promoting the interests of older people in our area. Due to a recent retirement, we are now seeking a new Trustee to join our Board.
We are inviting applications from enthusiastic and motivated people who share our commitment to the charity’s aims and core values.
The Role
As a Trustee, you will help ensure that Age UK Somerset has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction, and that the organisation is well-governed and effective in achieving its purpose. Trustees have collective responsibility for the charity’s compliance, prudence and care.
You should be prepared to give time for reading Board papers, attending around five daytime meetings each year (usually on Wednesdays), and keeping informed about the charity’s work and the issues affecting older people locally.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals who can bring experience in areas such as finance, HR, marketing, health, communications, or community engagement. All backgrounds will be considered.
What we offer
This is a voluntary, unpaid position, but essential out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Age UK Somerset is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
