Information and Advice Officer (Part-time)
Do you have a background in customer care, excellent communication skills and a desire to help people in their later life?
Age UK Somerset is an independent local charity leading teams of staff and volunteers to provide information and other services that create opportunities for people in later life.
Our Information & Advice team is at the heart of our organisation, providing a service directly to older people and others who need advice on issues affecting older people.
We are pleased to invite applications for the following part-time fixed term role, based in our Taunton office.
Hours: Salary: Location: |
Part Time 3 days a week, 21 hours per week £22,557.40 p.a. FTE (£13,534.44 actual) Taunton |
‘Information & Advice’ is a free, confidential service that aims to provide information to older people that enables them to make choices and decisions to enhance their quality of life.
As one of our Information & Advice Officers, you will offer telephone (and occasional face-to-face) support to our clients, their families and carers on a wide range of issues.
The role also involves helping people with welfare benefit forms and carrying out benefit entitlement checks for older people, so relevant and recent knowledge would be beneficial but training will be provided.
You should be committed to providing a quality service, using your listening and questioning skills to deal with all requests sensitively, discreetly and appropriately. The role requires that you complete your own administration, so the ability to keep accurate, detailed records on our database will also be key to your success within the role.
In return this rewarding role offers a pleasant working environment within our modern Taunton office, working alongside our friendly team. Free car parking is available.
Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory references.
