Laps for Loneliness
A huge well done to everyone who took part in the first Laps for Loneliness event on the16th May. There was a great turn out and the weather stayed dry with the sun poking out through the clouds every now and then.
Over fifty people came along to support our fundraising and take to the track at Thornes Park.
There was support from Rhubarb Radio who broadcast live from the event, offering music, games and lots of cheering on! Cycle for Everyone was a huge hit, they brought bokes of all shapes and sizes to ensure that fun was had by all.
Laps for Loneliess was held to raise money to support our Befriending project. Befriending offers friendship and conversation for isolated and lonely older people. Volunteers visit or telephone to provide vital contact and a lasting realtionship. To find out more about Befriending, take a look at our webpage
