Local businesses come together to support older people in Sheffield

Age UK Sheffield Fundraising Quiz

Published on 28 October 2026 03:48 PM

More than £2,500 has been raised for Age UK Sheffield thanks to a fantastic charity quiz night hosted by Hamnett Wealth Management at Abbeydale Golf Club.

The evening brought together businesses and professionals from across Sheffield for a night of friendly competition, fundraising and networking, all in support of older people in our community.

We were delighted to welcome supporters from a wide range of local businesses, including Wake Smith Solicitors, Hentons Corporate Finance, Gravitate Accounting, NatWest, Sills & Betteridge Solicitors, Norrie Waite & Slater, BRM Solicitors, MD Law, RMC Media, Hawsons and Freeths, whose generosity and enthusiasm helped make the evening such a success.

Teams faced a challenging quiz, including a music round that proved trickier than many expected! Congratulations to Wake Smith Solicitors, who were crowned quiz champions on the night.

Alongside the quiz, guests enjoyed a raffle and prizes generously donated by local supporters, including Abbeydale Golf Club, Play Padel Group and Waitrose.

The event has raised around £2,510, with funds helping Age UK Sheffield continue to provide vital services and support for older people across the city.

Teresa Barker, Chief Executive Officer at Age UK Sheffield, said:

"It was wonderful to see so many local organisations come together to support older people in our community. We can't thank everyone enough for being part of such a successful evening. Every pound raised will help us continue providing essential support and services for older people across Sheffield."

A huge thank you to Hamnett Wealth Management, everyone who donated prizes, and all the teams who took part and helped make the evening such a success.

We look forward to seeing the event return in 2027!
