We are seeking an experienced manager with a passion for exercise and wellbeing and an appreciation of how it can support older people to live longer better.
About the role
Strength, balance and staying active are at the core of our Ageing Well and Falls Prevention service. Taking part in group exercise and maintaining a level of strength and balance is vital for older people to reduce the effect of age-related decline, maintain independent living, wellbeing and reduce isolation. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives!
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clear leadership and support to the Ageing Well and Falls Prevention team
- Oversee the daily operation in collaboration with service Co-ordinators and Administrators
- Monitor class participation to ensure financial sustainability and to meet demand
- Develop and launch new classes, with a pragmatism that balances merit and risk
- Represent Age UK Somerset in meetings, talks, presentations and demonstrations
- Maintain good working relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Maintain high standards of client satisfaction, legal and procedural compliance
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience running a customer-facing service in the movement & exercise arena
- Hold a recognised fitness/exercise equivalent Level 2 certificate/diploma
- First-class organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid understanding of budgets
- Experience of monitoring and evaluating services
