Hog roast at The Peartree Centre

Lunch club members enjoyed a special hog roast lunch

Our cook and her team of volunteers work hard to ensure the Peartree Centre lunch club is an enjoyable weekly event, with a freshly cooked meal and activities laid on as standard.  On Wednesday 25th July club members were treated to a special hog roast meal provided by an outside caterer, with Jenny the cook dishing up lemon cheesecake or luxury fruit salad to follow.

Musical entertainment by singer Marky Mark had several people up and dancing and few club members could resist tapping their feet and swaying in time to his expert rendition of some classic power ballads.

Beryl and Joan both said the food was "worth coming in for" although they usually sit together and always look forward to meeting up each week.  Variety may be the spice of life but friendship and support is essential to most of us in later life.  Huge thanks to all the volunteers who put so much effort into making it a particularly enjoyable occasion, especially to Andy who had the original idea and worked so hard making it such a success on a hot afternoon.
