Published on 30 March 2021 09:13 AM

Following the news that Age UK Sheffield are beginning work on the Coach House in Hillsborough Park, they have now launched a search to find an operator to run the new café.

Building work started on Monday 29th March and the charity is hoping to open the doors to the public before the end of the year. They want the café operator to be in place before then so that they can influence the look and feel of the café.

Anyone who is interested an access the tender documents on the Age UK Sheffield website now and initial proposals must be submitted by April 19th.

Steve Chu, Age UK Sheffield CEO, said: “We are excited to see who comes forward to operate the new café for us. We want to be able to provide an excellent facility for the local people in this wonderful setting. The Hillsborough community have longed for a café in the park, so this is bound to be a popular and unique spot. If you know anyone with hospitality management experience who may be interested in applying, please do share this exciting opportunity with them.”

There are more opportunities to get involved in the Coach House project too. As part of this development, the charity are also seeking proposals from partners to deliver a range of activity projects to engage people with the heritage of the Old Coach House building, Hillsborough Park, and the wider local community.

There are four activities now open to applications, from creating learning resources about local history designed to engage children from Early Years to KS2 to delivering a community arts and theatre project.
