The Boutique by Age UK Sheffield launched in Broomhill.
A new pre-loved designer reseller is opening inside the Age UK Sheffield Broomhill shop this July.
The Boutique by Age UK Sheffield will be on the first floor of the existing charity shop but it will provide new and nearly new high-end, designer items that people can buy, with the proceeds being split between the seller and the charity.
People that are interested in selling can book an evaluation where any designer or vintage items can be brought to and a price is agreed. For those buying, The Boutique will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 10am – 2pm.
“I’d been thinking about the concept for a while having seen some similar style shops in London,” said Kelli Diener, Retail Development Manager. “Shopping sustainably has become more important in recent years and that is something we focus on in all three of our charity shops. The great thing about this project is that it benefits so many people. As the seller, if you have unwanted or unworn items that you no longer want, you bring them to The Boutique by Age UK Sheffield and make some money on those. By splitting the proceeds, you also contribute to the Age UK Sheffield services and mission to help older people in Sheffield. All of this while reducing your carbon footprint and shopping sustainably. It truly does benefit everyone and we are very excited to see what the future holds.”
Teresa Barker, Chief Executive, said, “The Boutique by Age UK Sheffield is a truly exciting project for the team. The proceeds from the Boutique will be distributed back to the charity and will support our vision for Sheffield to be a City in which no older person lives in poverty or loneliness. Demand for our services is at an all time high, funds raised will help towards providing our vital services for older people in Sheffield.”
