Healthwatch Barnet aims to help local people get the best out of their health and social care services. On this section of Age UK Barnet's website, we update you on the latest ways your can give your feedback. Healthwatch Barnet gathers this evidence to present to those making decisions about our health and social care services.

Hospital referrals/appointments

Healthwatch Barnet and Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group have developed a leaflet explaining the referral process for patients who have been referred by their GP to see a specialist. It’s been sent to all GP surgeries. You can see it here.

Hospital Transport

Healthwatch Barnet has heard that people are experiencing difficulties in accessing hospital transport currently, including people who have had transport provided previously. This is due to national changes to patient transport criteria which have been adopted by each local trust. We would very much like to hear about patients’ and carers’ experiences, both good and bad. Please email us on info@healthwatchbarnet.co.uk

Transport for Cancer Patients.

Healthwatch Barnet produced a report on what works well and what is difficult for patients. We hope to work with Macmillan to review the information available to cancer patients about transport. You can read the report here report

Translation services in GPs.

Healthwatch Barnet wants to find out patients’ experiences of translation and interpreting services at GP practices. All Barnet GPs should now have access to language line phone translation services. We would like to find out if your GP has told you about this and of your experience if you have used this service.
