Greetings from the Jubilee Centre

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Life is returning to normal at the Jubilee Centre with 18 activities now up and running. It was great to see our members and tutors back at the centre even though it was a bit odd to be wishing them a Happy New Year! Better late than never!

Activities at the Jubilee Centre Next Week

Our timetable is in the link below.

Timetable for Jubilee Centre Activities for next week

Please do not come into the Jubilee Centre if you have a cold or if you are feeling unwell.

Annual General Meeting ¦ Monday 31st January

Our AGM will be this coming Monday (31st January 2022) at 2.00 at the Jubilee Centre. All are welcome to attend.

At the meeting we will be presenting our report on how our charity responded to the first year of the pandemic and some of our plans for the future. The report will be available online from our website next week.

Facebook Page

A few weeks ago, Facebook took our page down, claiming we had violated their terms of use. We have submitted an appeal and awaiting an explanation for their decision.

Until we have sorted it out, you can keep up to with our news at our Friends of Age UK Bury group , which is also on Facebook and so far, has not caused any upset to anyone!

Coronavirus in Bury

As of Thursday 27th January, 830.6 people per 100,000 in Bury tested positive for coronavirus over the last 7 days – that is a decrease of 14% from the previous week. On the same day, the England average was 1003.8 people testing positive per 100,000 over the last seven days– an increase of 3% from the previous week’s figure.

In all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, the Coronavirus rates are now below the national average, according to the latest data. The really good news is that The Manchester Evening News reports that Coronavirus hospitalisations have dropped by over 75 percent in Greater Manchester over the last week.

With Covid 19 restrictions, the government has declared that England has now returned to Plan A. You should continue to protect yourself and others in the following ways:
