Age Cymru Dyfed's Currys Aberystwyth Donation

Age Cymru Dyfed's Currys Aberystwyth Donation

Published on 29 May 2023 10:27 AM

This week, go to charity for the over fifties Age Cymru Dyfed, received a fabulous cash donation from Currys Aberystwyth of around £500, with Head of Operations at Age Cymru Dyfed Jo Westlake attending the store to collect the cheque and thank staff.

Last year, Currys store Aberystwyth rebranded while Currys chose Age UK as their sponsored charity. Store Manager Jodie Cooper wanted to further support the over fifties locally and decided to reach out to Age Cymru Dyfed to offer their 2022 proceeds from planned raffle donations, ensuring local community directly benefited.

Simon Wright Age Cymru Dyfed CEO said;

“Age Cymru Dyfed would like to say a big thank you to Currys Aberystwyth, Jodie, and staff, as well as local businesses who kindly donated the fabulous raffle prizes to help Dyfed love later life.

Thanks also to customers of the Aberystwyth store who supported our cause. This is a very kind gesture and it resulted in a welcomed donation of £434.00. The much-needed funds will go towards Age Cymru Dyfed services and projects supporting the over fifties in West Wales in a myriad of ways. As we are an independent charity we really rely on fundraising, donations and other funding streams to run important services across the West Wales region to fill gaps in other public services to help people live independent lives for longer.”
