Your Voice - at a Public Forum in Carmarthen
Published on 16 October 2026 03:09 PM

Age Cymru in partnership with Age Cymru Dyfed is hosting a forum meeting in Carmarthen on Wednesday 21 October from 10am-12pm.
It is a chance for older people to meet, have a chat over a coffee and tell us what matters to them. We want to hear their experiences, ideas, and concerns.
We are keen to hear what support older people might need to help them look after their health and stay active and what might stop them. We will also discuss local services, support in the community, coming home from hospital and decisions that could improve older people’s health and quality of life.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the services that Age Cymru Dyfed provide to support older people across Dyfed along with volunteering opportunities.
We would love to see as many older people as possible from Carmarthen and surrounding areas to join us. Every voice matters. What you tell us during this meeting will help Age Cymru speak up for older people across Wales and for decisionmakers to hear your views.
Victoria Lloyd, Chief Executive at Age Cymru said:’
"We believe that older people should have a strong voice in decisions which affect their lives. The forum provides local older people to come together, to share their experiences and tell us what matters to them.
“We are keen to hear directly from older people to hear their experiences about what support they may need to look after their health, how they stay active but to also hear what may stop them from doing these. During the meeting we will also be discussing local services in Carmarthenshire, what support is available in the community, coming home from hospital and what decisions could be made to improve older people’s health and quality of life.
“I would encourage older people from Carmarthen and the surrounding areas to join us for what promises to be an informative and engaging discussion. This will ensure that older people’s voices are heard by elected decision makers.”
