Shopping Escort Volunteer

Time and Day Required: Wednesday or Thursday 10:30am - 2pm

Minimum length of commitment: 6+ months

Report to: Activity Centre Manager

Role Overview: Head out on our minibus with our friendly driver and collect predominantly housebound older people from their homes. You'll accompany them to a large local supermarket and help them with their shopping if they need it. This might include taking items off hard to reach shelves, reading out product descriptions or use by dates, or helping to carry shopping. You'll then drop everyone back home again at the end of the trip.

A rewarding role supporting older people on their weekly shopping trip. Suits someone physically strong, proactive, and caring, who enjoys helping others feel safe, supported, and confident while out and about.

This service runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, and we'd be happy for you to help us out on any of those days. We do need you to stay for the whole trip though, so please make sure you are available for the entire morning.
