Letter to Editors: National survey of the pandemic for the over 50s in Wales

Published on 22 February 2022 10:14 AM

Dear Editor

As restrictions begin to ease, we wish to invite your readers aged over 50 to take part in our national survey to gain an understanding of their current experiences of the pandemic and help us identify what is needed to aid recovery so we can work with the Welsh Government and other service providers.

We want to hear about your readers’ access to health and social care, and how this may have affected their physical and mental well-being, and whether this has meant an increase in caring responsibilities.

We want to know if your readers were forced to stop working during the pandemic, whether they’ve been able to return to the same job, find new work, or have had impacted retirement plans.

We also want to know how your over 50s readers feel about getting out into the local community. Do they feel confident that it is safe and if not, what measures would help them?

To take part in our research, funded by Welsh Government, readers can complete our survey online in English or Welsh by visiting: www.agecymru.org.uk/covid19survey

Or they may request a copy of the survey in either English or Welsh by calling 029 2043 1555.

Your readers may also write to us with their current experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic and their views on the future recovery via the following freepost address: Age Cymru, FREEPOST RTZG-JHGC-RYJJ, Mariners House, Trident Court, East Moors Road, Cardiff CF24 5TD.

The deadline for any correspondence is Friday 25 March 2022 .

Yours sincerely

Victoria Lloyd

Chief Executive, Age Cymru
