Postcards of Kindness

Women reading postcards

The kindness of strangers

Sending postcards to older people is a great way to make an older person's day and spark conversations, as we discovered on a recent visit to a care home.

Postcards of Kindness is an initiative that asks people to write and send postcards to residents of care homes. And while it’s a small gesture, the resulting deliveries bring a great deal of joy and spark lively conversations among the older people who receive them.

We visited a care home in Essex where residents read through their Postcards of Kindness, full of good wishes and tales of adventures.
